On some geometric and algebraic models for images analysis

Abstract


In this paper we discuss some results of algebra and geometry and we focalize on their applications to some known models for digital image analysis. In particular, the first part of the paper is devoted to the computation of the vanishing of simplicial homology groups associated to special triangulations, which is a useful tool for obtaining information about the structure of a digital image. In the second part some Buffon type solutions which are of interest in the design of a geophysical survey are obtained.
